Information Overload

After a whole lot of procrastination, I have spent several hours this afternoon finally getting caught up on all my electronic media tasks....downloading pictures to the computer, uploading the pictures to Snapfish, emailing said pictures out to everyone, creating another photo album in Facebook and uploading some of these same pictures to that album, and now, blogging....Iphoto, Snapfish, Facebook, Eblogger.....UGH, no wonder I'm so far behind!

So here is what I think I'm going to do to simplify just a little bit. I will still download, upload, and email my pictures out on Snapfish on a monthly basis, as I have been doing for several years now. However, I will probably not be posting many pictures on this blog anymore because: 1) it is very time-consuming and time is not something I have much of these days 2) generally the same people who read the blog also get the same pictures on Snapfish eventually, so the pictures get seen eventually. I may also opt not to always create a separate picture album on Facebook anymore, as I will just post a Snapfish link ON Facebook to all the pictures if someone wants to see them. Hopefully this way I will be a little bit better about staying on top of all my stuff!

Moving on to actual blog updating, once again I have allowed more than an entire month to pass between updates, so I'm feeling like bullet points might be most appropriate at this juncture. Forgive me if you don't like bullet points. :)

  • Perhaps the biggest news from the last month is that we found out that Brian got accepted to the Naval War College, so we will be moving to Newport, Rhode Island next summer! This Master's program is only a year long, so our time there will be short, but we are VERY excited for this new adventure! The kids are looking forward to the possibility of snow, I'm looking forward to seasons (especially the fall foliage) and experiencing New England, and Brian is looking forwarding to being back near his old college stomping grounds. Woo hoo!!
  • My baby girl started kindergarten. :( Where does time go? I was a bit sad to see her go, but thankfully, she absolutely LOVES school (can you tell she's my kid? ;)). She has already made three good girlfriends, she loves her teachers, and she's always excited to go.
  • My baby boy turned four. :( Where does time go? He had an "airplane" themed birthday party this year down at the Hale Koa pool, and it was quite a success. He wore himself completely out, but had lots of fun being with his friends on his special day.
  • Grammy Bev came to visit for 2.5 weeks, and as usual, we kept her busy and wore her out pretty good. The kids can never get enough grammy time, which is always a nice break for me, but they definitely keep Grammy on her toes. :)
  • Last weekend, Brian and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary by taking the whole family down to the Hale Koa hotel for two nights. We swam, ate, swam, ate, swam some more, and a good time was had by all. Brian bought himself a new phone for the occasion, and then he spoiled me with a spa massage and a new kindle. Thanks B!
  • Brian is leaving twice this month....tonight he is leaving for four days for training in San Diego, and on the 22nd he will be leaving for five days for a short deployment overseas. Not too bad....
  • I will be heading to Colorado Springs next Thursday to visit Heather and family for a long weekend, so I'm excited about that. It's hard to having them around here anymore, so I'm looking forward to getting my "Griswold family" fix.
  • We are on our last round of landscaping modifications, in preparation for renting this house out next summer. Anybody need a place to rent in Hawaii? ;)
  • I went a little different on the hair do this week. It now looks a little something like this....

I guess that about covers all the major news around here. We are just busy as usual, getting settled into our new routines with school, school events, and more stuff. I have a feeling this is just the beginning....
