Guilty of Neglect

Hello, hello. Long time no talk! I know, I know, I've been neglecting this blog pretty bad lately, but I promise it's been unavoidable. As you are already aware, we had guests for nearly six weeks straight, and things have yet to return to normal since I'm up and leaving tonight.

So, here is where we are at . . . we wrapped up the visit with my parents yesterday, and despite a few injuries, cancellations, and crowds, a good time was had by all. The lesson learned from this trip was that twelve days is not nearly enough time to see all the cool stuff on this island . . . it's only enough time to hit a few high points. But, we took full advantage of the time we had, and already have a list going of the things to hit next time.

Late tonight I leave for my girls' trip to Montana. The last few days have been a hectic scramble on my part (with a bit of help from my parents) to get everything ready for my departure . . . house completely cleaned, groceries for Brian and the kids, everyone's laundry done, and getting my bags packed. Doesn't sound like too much, huh? Throw in a cold that I managed to catch a couple days ago, an ear infection for Charley (which meant spending most of our morning at the doctor and pharmacy), and the cold now spreading to Charley and Zander, things got a bit more messy. Oh well, such is life, right? But poor Brian is stuck with two sick kids now. Are you all feeling sorry for him? I sure do! But not too guilty to stay home of course . . . :)

Sooooo, I had every intention of giving you all a nice big juicy blog entry before I left, complete with updates, pictures, and the usual descriptions of all our happenings for the past couple weeks, BUT I just don't think it's going to happen. However, I promise to return from my trip full speed ahead, catching you all up on everything exciting that's been going on, like our fun visit with the silly silly Smith family from Oregon. I promised them that I would write an awesome entry JUST ABOUT THEM (because they are some of our biggest fans of course :)). And then I will have to tell you all about my trip because there is sure to be some good stuff happening there (believe me, you get me, Andrea, and Amber in a room together and SOMETHING is bound to happen). And keep your eyes out because if I get a spare minute, I may even blog from Montana. But if not, I promise to be back next weekend in full blog mode. I pinky swear (as Charley would say).
