Let's see....I figured I was overdue for a few pictures, so here is a small selection of our spring happenings.
For Mother's Day, I got to attend two awesome tea parties with the kids at their preschool. They also got me a yoga towel that I really wanted (thanks B), and we spent the day with friends at one of our favorite beaches. Not too bad if you ask me....
We are also in the midst of trying to grow our own little garden (in planter boxes and pots). So far we've got green peppers, jalapenos, green onions, tomatoes, dill, chives, basil, spearmint, a papaya tree, and even a couple pineapples (one has a baby pineapple on it!). The only thing we've managed to kill so far is a mint plant, but everything else is doing well, thanks to my two green-thumb helpers.
And of course, we've been continuing on with soccer....we are about half-way through the season. Every practice is a hoot, and all those little kids running around is just way too cute. Here are the kiddos with two of their best pals, Quinn and Becca.
We were also blessed with an awesome visit with the Smith Family (from Oregon), Kristin, Jason, Braden, and Conner. We had so much fun hanging out with them, going to the beach, hitting the waterpark, going out to eat, laughing, and catching up. Sadly, this is the only picture I have of the Smiths (and not even all of them), mostly because Kristin brought her nice camera and took tons of shots, so I was a total picture lamo.
This month also marked the one-year birthday of my soon-to-be-Goddaugther, Sawyer. As you may recall, I was fortunate enough last May to witness her entrance into this world, and it was very special to celebrate her first birthday with her too. Her mommy and daddy asked me to be her Godmother recently, so I will also have the fortune of adopting that title in a couple weeks. Even though they will be leaving Hawaii soon (July), we will now be stuck with each other forever. :)
Oh, and we must not forget.....Charley lost her first tooth!!!! I am normally not a squeamish person, but there is something about teeth that bugs me. So, I had to rely on my friend Tabitha to assist in helping pull the very loose tooth. Charley was brave and all went well.....that is, until the Tooth Fairy forgot to come that night after Charley had so carefully tucked her tooth in her tooth pillow. Thankfully, the Tooth Fairy did NOT forget the second night, after she spent the entire day completely guilt-ridden, and she left Charley a bit of fairy dust along with a $5 bill. Charley was super happy that the Tooth Fairy finally showed up, although she was a little bummed that is was "cash" and not "coins." We might have to work on learning the value of money....
Let's see, what else is going on.....
Brian went to Panama earlier this month for two weeks, and now he is in Michigan visiting family for a week. He gets back Friday and then leaves 24 hours later for work training in Seattle. This is a big month for him being gone, but then things should be quiet for the rest of the summer.
The kids have only two weeks left of school, and on June 5th we will celebrate Charley's "graduation" from preschool with a little ceremony at her school. Other than that, not much is new.....lots of birthday parties this month, goodbye celebrations, and various other get-togethers. Life is crazy, but a good kind of crazy, ya know?
